from an article about Charles/Camilla marriage

>>The Church of England, of which Charles will become titular head when he takes the throne, traditionally frowns on church remarriages for divorcees whose spouses are still alive.

"TITULAR" Mwa ha ha ha

great article

Man peed way out of avalanche

A Slovak man trapped in his car under an avalanche freed himself by drinking 60 bottles of beer and urinating on the snow to melt it.

Rescue teams found Richard Kral drunk and staggering along a mountain path four days after his Audi car was buried in the Slovak Tatra mountains.

He told them that after the avalanche, he had opened his car window and tried to dig his way out.

But as he dug with his hands, he realised the snow would fill his car before he managed to break through.

He had 60 half-litre bottles of beer in his car as he was going on holiday, and after cracking one open to think about the problem he realised he could urinate on the snow to melt it, local media reported.

He said: "I was scooping the snow from above me and packing it down below the window, and then I peed on it to melt it. It was hard and now my kidneys and liver hurt. But I'm glad the beer I took on holiday turned out to be useful and I managed to get out of there."

Parts of Europe have this week been hit by the heaviest snowfalls since 1941, with some places registering more than ten feet of snow in 24 hours.

banging head on wall. . .

We have a foolproof (or so I thought) method for laundry at the house--since it's one of the few tasks we both participate in. . . thanks for lifting a finger, dear.

Dirty clothes are carried downstairs from our closets and left in laundry baskets on the floor near the washer. Clean clothes (if they cannot be folded immediately--I understand we both get busy and don't have time) are left piled on the laundry table next to the washer. Clean-up high, Dirty-down low.

Pete was folding laundry as I was working at home this morning. . . I happened to walk by and noticed that he had folded ALL of the laundry from the basement. Yes--clean and dirty mixed together.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I told him he has to do the sniff test on everything he just folded and sort it out.

gah.

Just finished up the sleepover with the Girl Scouts. . . about 12 girls came over for the evening (pizza, games, movies, girl talk) and 10 stayed over night. They slept in A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time, I fed them some muffins, and they went home. It was really easy! Their Mom's thought I was crazy, but they left the house cleaner than my friends do after parties (even after spilling half a gallon of apple cider on the floor). Not that I want to do it every weekend. . . and I definitely don't want 10 kids :)

I can't believe it snowed so much!! I think our neighborhood is in a bit of wind tunnel, because we definitely had more on our deck than the 2-4" advertised for our region. Although it was light and fluffy, shoveled easily, and now the sun is shining--this is the snow I like in the city.
carving party

What fun!! The party was a success. I've done carving parties for 7 years now, and it's so interesting to see the progression as we "grow up." The first one was in my tiny studio apartment--we crammed 10 people and pumpkins in there. . . quite fun. Then there were the parties at my house in Medford. . . that house was really well set-up for parties. . . the first year, it was just a small, intimate party with 5 of my closest friends. . . and then it turned into three years of *raging* parties. My parents were there one year and they couldn't believe what a big party it was. This is the second year we've done the party in this house. . . and we had 4 kids there last night. . . it's fun to have raging parties, but at this point in my life, it's even more fun to share it with kids and watch them having fun. . . getting "old" I guess :)

Anyhoo, we have another party to attend tonight so I can offload the leftover pumpkin dip and pumpkin-oatmeal cookies :)
